Using royal icing and pattern, make face mask. Outline sections using tip 12; let dry. Assemble sections using dots of icing. Let dry completely.
Tint fondant: 1 package copper, 1/2 package blue, 1/4 package black, reserve 1/4 package white.
Following package directions, prepare 1-layer round and football cakes; cover round in copper fondant and football in chocolate fondant.
Using patterns, cut helmet and stripe, mouth, football stripes and laces out of fondant.
Cut fondant circles with wide end of tips: two of each tip 2A (white) and tip 3 (black) for eyes.
Mold hands, nose and eyebrows. Attach all fondant pieces to cake using dots of buttercream icing.
Cut hole in fondant and position face mask into cake. Add tip 3 message.
