Proud Uncle Cake

Step 1

Roll out dough. Using pattern, cut hat. Bake and cool; set aside. Pipe tip 2 star shapes on hatband; cover remainder of hatband with tip 13 stars.

Step 2

Cover stripes and brim of hat with tip 16 stars.

Step 3

Trim suspenders and fire hose off cake. Ice sides and background areas smooth. Outline body, clothes and shoes with tip 4.

Step 4

Pipe in eyes, mouth, shirt, inside of jacket tail and sleeves with tip 4 (smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch).

Step 5

Cover shoes, pants, jacket and face with tip 16 stars. Build up nose with tip 16 stars. Overpipe tip 4 dot pupils (smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch).

Step 6

Outline and pipe in tip 4 bow tie and add tip 4 dot knot (smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch).

Step 7

Pipe tip 16 pull-out star moustache and goatee; pipe tip 16 stripe hair. Pipe tip 21 star bottom border.

Step 8

Tape flag decal to lollipop stick and position in hands; insert additional stick at bottom of hands.

Step 9

Outline hands with tip 4 and overpipe with tip 16 stars. Position hat; support with large marshmallows.
