Our curious cottontails just have to see what’s inside the Easter basket! It’s an adorable cake design featuring the popular basketweave technique and finished with colorful Petite Eggs Icing Decorations.

Instructions:

Step 1

Combine Brown and Red-Red for brown shown. Roll out cookie dough. Cut 1 bunny using 2nd largest cutter and 2 bunnies using 2nd smallest cutter; bake and cool. Ice cookies smooth in buttercream. Outline and pipe in inner ears and noses with tip 3 and mouth and eyes with tip 2 (smooth all with finger dipped in cornstarch). Pipe tip 1 string whiskers.

Step 2

Ice 1-layer cake smooth. Mark cake top, 4 1/2 in. from bottom edge with toothpick. Cover area with tip 47 (ridged side up) basketweave. Pipe tip 18 rope top border for handle. Add tip 233 pull-out grass on top edge of basket. Attach bunny cookies to cake with dots of buttercream; pipe tip 5 bead paws. Add tip 233 pull-out grass bottom border and position icing decorations.
