One-derful Gifts! Cake

Step 1

Prepare cookie dough recipe, roll out and use patterns to cut 1 each: bow and tag. Bake and cool cookies. Ice both cookies smooth with white buttercream. Attach cookie stick to back of bow with melted candy.

Step 2

Bake and cool cake. Position on foil-covered board and ice sides and top smooth. Mark gift packages on top of cake with toothpick beginning at bottom.

Step 3

Mark blue 9 in. wide x 3 1/4 in. high, green 5 1/4 in. wide x 2 3/4 in. high, pink 4 1/2 in. wide x 2 3/4 in. high, violet 5 in. wide x 2 1/2 in. wide and yellow 5 in. wide to top of cake.

Step 4

Outline each gift tip 3 and cover with tip 16 stars in coordinating colors.

Step 5

Use dark shades of each color to pipe tip 2B diagonal strips 2 in. apart on blue gift; use tip 5 to pipe dots on green gift; use tip 2B to pipe horizontal stripes on pink gift; use tip 5 to pipe spirals on violet gift and tip 12 tip pipe vertical ribbon on yellow gift.

Step 6

Pipe tip 12 yellow bow loops on cookie and insert into cake top.

Step 7

Print tip 2 message on gift tag; attach to cake with icing.

Step 8

Pipe tip 12 dark yellow ribbon streamers over yellow gift and gift tag.

Step 9

Pipe tip 18 shell bottom border in white.
