*Brand confectionery coating
Bake cookies on sticks, cool. Melt candy following package directions, place candy in disposable decorating bag. Position cookies on cooling rack over waxed paper. Using a zigzag motion, cover cookies with candy. Tap cookie on grid to remove excess candy, allow to set.
Combine Red-Red and Christmas Red to produce color shown. Tint fondant red and black. Roll out fondant 1/8 in. thick, cut pieces with paring knife. Attach fondant pieces together with damp brush. You may make hat and bows in advance, but facial features should be made direcely on cookies.
Mouth: Cut black fondant into 1 1/2 in. wide x 1/2 deep shape.
Eyes: Roll a 1/4 in. ball of white fondant, flatten slightly into oval shape; roll a 1/8 in. ball of black fondant, flatten slightly and attach to white. Cut eyelashes 1/16 in. wide x 1/4 in. long out of black fondant.
Hat: Using red fondant, cut out a rectangle 1 x 1/2 in. wide and round corners off top 1 1/2 in. edge. Roll a log 3/16 in. diameter x 2 1/4 in. long and attach to bottom of hat. Cut a strip of white fondant 1 /4 in.wide x 1 1/2 in. long and attach for hatband.
Bow: Cut out bow tie shape 1 3/4 in. wide x 3/4 in. high out of red fondant. Roll out and flatten a ball and attach to center. For girl?s bow, increase height to 1 in.
Lips: Cut shapes out of red fondant.
Attach fondant to cookie with melted candy. Pipe dots of candy for noses and cheeks. Attach ribbon onto stick.
