Step 1

Cut backboard from dough. Attach stick to backboard and bake. Let cool. Ice backboard smooth. Pipe tip 2 outline and lattice net. Outline hoop with tip 5.

Step 2

Ice 2-layer cake smooth; top of cake, mix small amounts of brown and golden yellow; sides in golden yellow. Trace court pattern on cake top with toothpick; pipe tip 6 outline. Fill in with tip 16 stars.

Step 3

Divide cake sides into 8ths and position icing decorations at marks. Using patterns, pipe tip 2 plays on cake sides (pipe 2 of each play). Outline "Jump Shot" with tip 3 and fill in with tip 6. Pipe tip 3 message. Pipe tip 21 star top border and tip 32 star bottom border. Position backboard cookie.
