Leisurely Lamb Cake

Leisurely Lamb cake is perfect for church suppers or large family gatherings. The cake-on-cake design will serve over 40 guests; the decorated cookie “flowers” are a treat for the little sprouts!


Difficulty: Somewhat Easy


Step 1

In advance, cut, bake and cool approximately 18 each tulip and blossom cookies.

Step 2

Outline and fill in with Ice-A-Cookie (6 pink, yellow and lavender for each shape, make extras to allow for breakage) following package directions.

Step 3

When dry, add yellow dot in center of blossoms. Use warmed green Ice-A-Cookie and brush to cover lollipop sticks; let dry in craft block.

Step 4

Attach sticks to tulip cookies with melted candy; insert into green spice drops.

Step 5

Ice 1-layer 13 x 97/8 in. oval cake smooth and prepare for stacked construction.

Step 6

Ice lamb face and inside ears smooth (pat smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch). Cover head and body with tip 18 rosettes.

Step 7

Add tip 3 outline eyes, mouth and pull-out lashes; pipe in tip 3 nose (smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch). Position lamb on oval cake.

Step 8

Position tulip cookies on spice drops around oval cake; add tip 352 buttercream leaves to stems. Pipe tip 352 leaf bottom border, covering spice drops.

Step 9

Position blossom cookies and add sprinkle decorations.
