He Paints In Pastels Cake

The same pan you use to create a traditional Easter lamb cake works beautifully for this artistic bunny.


Difficulty: Somewhat Difficult


Step 1

Roll out cookie dough and trace patterns with toothpick. Using knife, cut two ears and feet, one basket handle. Cut 6 eggs using cutter from set. Bake and cool cookies.

Step 2

Trim lollipop sticks to 3 in. long and attach with melted candy to backs of cookies, leaving 2 in. extending to insert in cake; let set. Ice cookies smooth. Cover basket handle with tip 21 rope.

Step 3

Bake and cool lamb cake. Trim off ears. Ice body smooth, building up areas as needed. Build up cheeks with tip 12. Ice mouth smooth (smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch). Build up foot cookies with tip 12 and position in front of cake. Cover bunny with tip 16 stars. Insert ears; outline with tip 16 stars. Pipe in tip 4 eyes and nose (smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch). Position cookie egg on bunny. Pipe tip 12 pull-out arms and hands holding egg; overpipe with tip 16 stars. For paintbrush, cut lollipop stick to 2 1/2 in. and insert in hand; add tip 4 pull-out bristles on end. Cut licorice 2 in. long and insert for whiskers. Cover basket with tip 47 basketweave; pipe tip 18 rope top and bottom borders. Pipe tip 233 pull-out grass in basket. Insert handle and egg cookies in basket.

Step 4

Tint coconut green and position around cake. For paint cans, pipe tip 4 icing drips on marshmallows (smooth with palm of hand dipped in cornstarch); position around bunny.
