Hawaiian Chicken Pizza
Sounds crazy but Hawaiian Chicken Pizza will have guests doing a hula in the aisles! Toppings include healthy chicken strips, pineapple, macadamia nuts and other more traditional ingredients seasoned with garlic, ginger and barbeque sauce!
1 pizza crust refrigerated
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
1/2 pound (8 ounces) boneless, skinless chicken cut into strips
1clove garlic chopped
1-1/2 teaspoons fresh ginger chopped
1/3 cup BBQ sauce
1/2 cup pineapple chunks halved
1/4 cup green onion sliced
1 small red pepper sliced thin and cut into half rings
3/4 - 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
1/3 cup macadamia nuts halved
Pizza serves 6.
Preheat oven to 400°F. Lightly spray pan with vegetable pan spray. Unroll and gently press crust into prepared pan. Bake 5-6 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Set aside.
Meanwhile, heat oil in medium frying pan. Sauté chicken with garlic and ginger about 8 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink. Be careful not to brown garlic and ginger.
Brush baked crust with BBQ sauce and top pizza with cooked chicken, pineapple, green onion, red pepper and cheese.
Bake 10-12 minutes or until heated through and cheese is melted and bubbly. During the last 5 minutes in oven, top pizza with macadamia nuts. Serve immediately.
