Instructions:
Step 1
Assemble house, leaving off front panel, on cardboard base using black icing and following kit directions.
Step 2
Using spatula, ice roof smooth with black icing.
Step 3
Using green icing, outline and fill in door (smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch). Using black icing, outline door. Using dots of black icing, attach black mini multi-colored candies around door and purple mini multi-colored candy for doorknob.
Step 4
Using Fondant Roller, roll out orange large sugared gum drops on surface sprinkled with granulated sugar. Use knife to cut windows: two front top windows and four side windows 3/4 in. x 1 1/2 in.; bottom front window 1 3/4 in. x 1 1/4 in.; front panel window 1 1/2 in. x 1 in.; roof panel window 2 in. x 1 1/2 in. Cut all windows except front panel window tapering 1/8 in. toward bottom. Using black icing, attach windows to house and front panel. Using black icing, outline all windows and window panes.
Step 5
Using green icing, pipe zigzag shutters on windows.
Step 6
Using Fondant Roller, roll out black large sugared gum drops 1/8 in. thick on surface sprinkled with granulated sugar. Use knife to cut a 1/4 in. wide strip to fit at bottom of each window. Use black icing to attach strips. Use black icing to attach black candy spikes on strips.
Step 7
Using black icing, pipe lattice lines on roof of main house, 1/2 in. apart. Alternately attach purple and black mini multi-colored candies on eaves and purple mini multi-colored candies on peak of roof.
Step 8
Attach front panel to house with black icing. Using black icing, pipe bead fleur-de-lis and scroll details around windows and on door.
Step 9
Tint coconut green in zip-close bag. Position around house for grass.
