Graham Cracker Bars

Graham Cracker Bars are a fun project the whole family can enjoy! Mom prepares the coating and the kids get to add the toppings to create their own lunchbox or after-school treats.

Ingredients:

  • 12 graham crackers
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar firmly packed
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup dry roasted peanuts coarsely chopped
  • 1 cup Dark Cocoa Candy Melts® chopped
  • Assorted sprinkles or candy coated chocolate pieces

Makes: Each bar serves 1.

Preheat oven to 350°F. Place graham crackers in a single layer in a 15 1/4 x 10 1/4-inch cookie pan.

Combine sugar and butter in medium saucepan. Cook over low heat until mixture comes to a boil.

Pour mixture over graham crackers; spread evenly.

Top with peanuts, bake 5 minutes.

Remove from oven and top with chopped candy; add sprinkles. Cool completely in pan on wire cooling rack.

Variations:

Almond Cranberry Bars — Substitute 1 cup sliced almonds for peanuts. Top with 1/2 cup each chopped white Candy Melts and dried cranberries.

Coconut Toffee Bars — Substitute 1 cup shredded coconut for peanuts and sprinkle with 1/2 cup toffee bits.
