Instructions:
Step 1
Ice sides and lightly ice top of cake smooth. Trace wing patterns on cake top with toothpick. Outline body and pattern areas with tip 3. Leave pattern areas uncovered; cover remainder of wings and body with tip 16 stars.
Step 2
Tint portions of piping gel pink, blue, violet and green; pipe-in pattern areas with tinted piping gel in cut parchment bags. For antennae, cut licorice pieces to 2 in.; add a tip 16 star on end; insert in cake. Pipe tip 21 rosette bottom border.
