From the Heart Butter Cookies

1 cup unsalted butter softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 lrg egg
2 teaspoons baking powder
3 cups all-purpose flour

Preheat oven to 400°F. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar with an electric mixer.
Beat in egg and vanilla. Mix flour and baking powder; add 1 cup at time, mixing after each addition.
The dough will be very stiff, so blend last flour in by hand (if dough becomes too stiff, add water, a teaspoon at a time). Do not chill dough.
Divide dough into two balls on a lightly floured surface, roll each ball into a circle approximately 12 inches in diameter and 1/8 inch thick.
Dip Wilton's Metal "Heart" Cutters into flour before each use.
Bake cookies on ungreased cookie sheet on middle rack of oven for 6-7 minutes, or until cookies are lightly browned. Makes 3-4 dozen cookies.
Traditional Heart Cookies
Ice cookie and print "LOVE" using Wilton's Decorating Tip #4 and a Disposable Bag.
Ice cookie and outline with Tip #16 stars. Pipe an inner heart shape also with Tip #16.
Using full strength Wilton Color Flow, outline heart with Tip #2. Using thinned Color Flow in 2 colors (in Disposable Bag - no tip), flow in each half of the heart. Immediately pull the 2 colors together by drawing a pin or toothpick across cookie in parallel lines. Royal icing may be used in place of Color Flow.
For small heart, sprinkle with nonpareils before baking.
Crinkle Heart Cookies
Cover with Tip #16 stars in buttercream or royal icing. Sprinkle with red sugar from Wilton's 6-Mix Sprinkle Assortment.
Double Heart with Faces Cookies
Outline cookie with full strength color flow using Tip #2. Flow in using thinned color flow. Let dry. Pipe facial features - Tip #3 for eyes, Tips #2 for pupils, nose, mouth, tongue and eyebrows in full strength color flow or royal icing.
Heart with Arrow
Ice arrow smooth. Outline heart shape with Tip #3 zigzags. Also with Tip #3, zigzag the inner heart design and pipe a Tip #3 zigzag border around inner heart design.
