Fish School Colors Cake

This cake’s a keeper! With bold fish swimming above a bubbly sea bottom made with Sugar Sheets!™ Edible Decorating Paper in Bright Blue and Blue Dots, it’s all the color and fun your celebration needs.


Difficulty: Easy


Step 1

Bake and cool 2-layer cake. Ice smooth with blue buttercream.

Step 2

Use Border Punch with Waves Cutting Insert and Blue Sugar Sheets! to cut a full-length piece; trim to 1 1/4 in. deep. Cut a second full-length piece using Blue Dots Sugar Sheet!; trim to 1 in. deep. Cut extras as needed to go around cake. Attach to blue piece, then to cake with Piping Gel.

Step 3

Using Single Shape Punch with largest Circle Cutting Insert and Pink, Green and Yellow Sugar Sheets!, cut two fish bodies in each color. Attach bodies to cake, 1 1/2 in. apart, with Piping Gel.

Step 4

Use Single Shape Punch with largest Heart Cutting Insert to cut a piece in each color; attach for tail with Piping Gel.

Step 5

Use smallest Heart Cutting Insert and same colors to cut four hearts for each fish; layer two hearts for side fin. Crease slightly and attach to cake for mouth and fins with Piping Gel. Attach eyeballs. Position candles.
