Dad's Favorite Brownies
Dads like to relax with things they love the most: cars, sports, television, tools… and good, old fashioned brownies. So give him what he wants this year with Wilton's recipe for a happy dad: Dad's Favorite Brownies. Simply bake delicious chocolate brownies, ice with brightly colored frosting and cut individual servings. Top with candles celebrating his favorite pastimes and surprise him with a sweet treat for Father' Day. Be ready with extra plates and napkins so Dad can celebrate with another one of his favorites: his family.
Ingredients:
- 3 sticks butter cut into pieces
- 4 squares unsweetened chocolate chopped
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 eggs

- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups nuts chopped (optional)

Instructions:
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray pan with vegetable pan spray.
Step 2
In small heavy saucepan or microwave safe bowl, melt butter and chocolate; stir until blended.
In large bowl, combine chocolate mixture with sugar; mix well. Add eggs and vanilla; blend well.
Combine flour and salt. Add to chocolate mixture; stir until all flour is mixed in. If desired, stir in nuts. Spoon into prepared pan.
Bake 40-45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely.
Step 3
To decorate: Prepare whipped icing mix according to package directions.
Tint with icing color. Spread icing over cooled brownies. Cut into squares. Add candles and serve.
