Colossal Cupcake Birthday Cake

A momentous occasion deserves a huge celebration. This giant cupcake is completely edible, right down to its candle, created with Sugar Sheets!

Instructions:

Step 1

To make candle, use Rotary Cutter to cut strip, 3 in. long x 2 in. wide, from Light Green Sugar Sheets! Roll sheet around FoodWriter and seal with piping gel. Slide sheet off FoodWriter, and let dry for a few minutes.

Step 2

Using Rotary Cutter, cut strip, 10 3/4 long x 1/8 in. wide, from Light Yellow Sugar Sheets! Coil the strip around the candle at an angle and attach with piping gel.

Step 3

Using punch with Leaf Cutting Insert, cut out flame from Bright Yellow Sugar Sheets! Color stem with black FoodWriter. Attach to candle using piping gel. Set aside.

Step 4

Bake and cool cake. Position base on foil-wrapped cake board. Ice smooth with light yellow (Lemon Yellow Icing Color and Golden Yellow Icing Color) buttercream.

Step 5

Using border punch with Diamonds Cutting Insert, cut six strips, 4 in. long, from Light Blue Sugar Sheets! Cut a zigzag pattern on opposite side with Rotary Cutter.

Step 6

Using Rotary Cutter, cut six strips, 4 in. long x 3/8 in. wide, from Red Sugar Sheets!

Step 7

Attach alternating blue zigzags and red strips to cake, 1/2 in. apart, with piping gel.

Step 8

Attach cupcake top. Ice top with white buttercream. Sprinkle with confetti.

Step 9

Spell out name with Alphabet Sugar Sheets! and attach to cake.

Step 10

Attach candle to top of cake.
