Following fleurs-de-lis pattern for size (see below), and piping with royal
icing, make 100 tip 6 fleurs-de-lis (make extra to allow for breakage). Let
dry.
Assemble archway and steeple according to directions included in kit. Use
royal icing: Pipe tip 2B band around base of steeple. Add tip 4 dots and bead
border. Pipe tip 2B band around openings of archway. Add tip 4 fleurs-de-lis
and dots; edge with tip 4 bead border. Let dry.
Prepare 10 in. and 16 in. 2-layer cakes for stacked
construction. Ice 2-layer 6 in. and four 1-layer 6 in. cakes smooth. On
foil-covered sturdy corrugated board or plywood base, position on 6 in. one-layer
on each side of 16 in. tier. Position separator plate atop 10 in. tier. Outline
the plate edge using tip 362.
One 6 in. 2-layer top cake: Position atop separator plate. With toothpick,
mark window patterns (see below) on cake sides 1 in. from base of cake. Pipe
tip 1D flat side top band and tip 47 bottom band around cake. Overpipe the top
band at each corner with bands of tip 1D serrated side, tip 2B flat side, and
tip 47 serrated side, aligning all at top (length of band is 2 in. – 1
in. out from corner point).
On the top band between the corners, pipe tip 6
triangle arches. Using tip 3, overpipe arches and add fleurs-de-lis and dots.
Outline windows and extra line under windows using tip 6. Pipe round windows
and beads over lines using tip 3. Pipe top and bottom bead borders with tip
4. Pipe tip 3 dots on flower spikes and position on cake corners. Position angels
at each corner.
Decorate bottom tiers. Pipe base borders as follows: Pipe layered bands of
flat side tips 1D, 2B, and 47. Edge each band with tip 3 beads. On 10 in. top
tier: imprint scrolls from Pattern Press Set on cake sides. Pipe top border
band using flat side of tip 1D. Imprint arch on top band, using the scroll from
Pattern Press Set. Outline scrolls and arches using tip 362, then overpipe using
tip 4. Add to tip 4 dots, teardrops and fleurs-de-lis . Pipe 4B upright elongated
shells at each corner topped with tip 362 fleurs-de-lis and stars. Add tip 6
top bead border.
Overpipe band at corners with tip 1D serrated side. On 16 in.
tier base tier: Pipe flat side tip 1D band around top border. Overpipe band
at corners with tip 1D serrated side. On side bands, pipe tip 6 triangle arches.
Use tip 3 to overpipe arches and add dots and fleurs-de-lis. On cake sides pipe
tip 105 shells with tip 4 dots. Pipe tip 4B upright elongated shells at each
corner. Add tip 6 top bead border.
On each 6 in. side tier: Pipe tip 47 serrated
side band around top border. Add tip 3 dots. Pipe tip 4B upright elongated shell
at each corner, top with tip 4 dot. Pipe tip 6 bead border around top of cake.
Attach royal icing fleurs-de-lis to all cake tops.
At reception: Position archway, top cake and steeple. Add Lasting Love couple
and mini bouquets.


Note: The top tier is often saved for the first anniversary. The number of
servings given does not include the top tier.
