Bouncing Baby Buggy Shower Cake

What could be sweeter than a two-tiered baby shower cake? How about one decorated with Sugar Sheets!

Instructions:

Step 1

One day in advance, use black FoodWriter and second largest circle cutter as a guide to trace two circles on back side of Light Yellow Sugar Sheets! Use Rotary Cutter to cut. Cut out 1/4 of both circles.

Step 2

Using border punch with Scallop Cutting Insert, cut two strips, 2 3/4 in. long x 1/2 in. wide, and two strips, 2 in. long x 1/2 in. wide, from White Sugar Sheets! Attach to cutout edge of each yellow circle using piping gel. Brush scallops with white Pearl Dust. Allow circles to dry 24 hours.

Step 3

Using Rotary Cutter, cut two strips, 3 in. long x 1 3/4 in. wide, from Light Green Sugar Sheets! Form loops with the strips and attach ends together using piping gel. Cut ends to form an angle. Set on its side. Fill loops with cotton balls to hold shape. Let dry 24 hours.

Step 4

Use piping gel to attach circles together with a lollipop stick in between.

Step 5

Bake and cool cakes. Fill and ice cakes smooth with buttercream. Prepare for stacked construction.

Step 6

For pink scallops, use punch with Scallop Cutting Insert to cut 16 strips, 4 in. long x 1/4 in. wide, from Light Pink Sugar Sheets! Trim strips to 1 in. wide and attach to inner curves of petal cake using piping gel.

Step 7

Using Slide-N-Cut Edge Cutter, cut 16 strips, 4 in. long x 1 3/4 in. wide, from Light Yellow Sugar Sheets! Attach eight strips over seams of pink scallops using piping gel.

Step 8

Using Slide-N-Cut Edge Cutter, cut eight strips, 4 in. long x 1 in. wide, from Light Blue Sugar Sheets! Attach to outer curves of petal cake using piping gel. Attach remaining eight yellow strips to center of blue strips using piping gel.

Step 9

For green bow, use Slide-N-Cut Edge Cutter to cut two strips, 9 1/2 in. long x 1 in. wide, from Light Green Sugar Sheets! Attach around the center of the 6 in. round cake with piping gel. Trim to fit if necessary. Cut two strips, 2 in. long x 1/2 in. wide, from Light Green Sugar Sheets! for ribbon tails. Cut an upside down "V" at end of each tail. Attach with piping gel. Attach green bow with piping gel. Using punch with Small Flower Cutting Insert, punch flower from Light Green Sugar Sheets! Attach to center of bow using piping gel.

Step 10

Insert bassinette into top of cake.

Step 11

Using tip 6 and buttercream, pipe bead border at bottom.
