Reel in the compliments with this Birthday Blow-Out cake design. It’s fun and fast and sure to provide a whale of a birthday treat for any age.

Instructions:

Step 1

For spout, cut nine 4 in. pieces of florist wire. Coat using buttercream icing and tip 2. Tie 8 wires together with remaining 4 in. wire. Set aside.

Step 2

For party hat, cut a small piece of foil and roll into cone. Glue to fasten. Pipe tip 2 pull-out string pompon and fringe. Set aside.

Step 3

Ice entire cake smooth. Position Mini Wonder Mold cake on sheet cake.

Step 4

Build up icing around front area of whale with tip 9. Cover whale with tip 14 stars. Pipe-in tip 2 dot eyes and pupils (smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch).

Step 5

Insert flower spike in tail area and fill with icing. Pipe tip 14 tail around flower spike. Add tip 68 pull-out fins on each side of tail.

Step 6

Insert flower spike into top of whale's head. Fill spike with icing and position spout inside spike.

Step 7

Position hat and candles. Pipe tip 21 star bottom border. Print message with tips 1 and 2. Add sprinkles.
