Apple Pie

Not everyone is lucky enough to inherit Grandma’s secret family recipe for apple pie. Here’s one of our favorites!

  • Apple Pie Pan

Ingredients:

  • 1 (15 ounce) pkg refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 egg mixed with 2 tablespoons water Egg wash
  • Granny Smith apples
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons Madagascar Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup flour

instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Fit one crust into Apple Pie Pan.

In a large frying pan, melt the butter and cook apples with both sugars, lemon juice, vanilla, cinnamon and flour until apples are soft but not mushy.

Pour filling into bottom crust. Position top crust, trim and crimp edges.

From trimmed dough, cut two leaves.

Tint a small amount of egg wash with green icing color, brush leaves. Brush top crust with untinted egg wash and position leaves.

Bake 35-40 minutes or until bubbly and crust is browned.
