Halloween revelers beware—this Bat Puts the Bite on You. Sink your teeth into this spooky bat cake and its candy-filled cookie bag before it sinks its teeth into you.

instructions
Make cookie bag:
Tint dough orange; roll out and cut the following: two 4 x 5 in. pieces for bag front and back, two
1 x 4 3/4 in. pieces for sides and one 1 x 4 in. piece for bottom.
Bake and cool. Position 4 x 5 in. back piece flat on waxed paper.
Attach side and bottom pieces upright on edges with royal icing; let dry.
Attach 4 x 5 in. front piece with royal icing; let dry. Attach licorice handle to inside of bag with royal icing.
Ice cake sides and background areas smooth.
Outline bat with tip 3. Pipe in tip 12 eyes, tip 5 inside mouth and teeth (smooth all areas with finger dipped in cornstarch).
Outline mouth with tip 5. Pipe tip 3 dot pupils. Cover remainder of bat with tip 16 stars; add tip 18 star bottom border.
Fill cookie bag with candy and position on foil-wrapped board below cake. Pipe tip 21 shell claws holding bag. Print tip 3 message and add tip 3 web on cookie bag.
