Make cupcakes. Prepare cupcake batter following recipe directions. Bake and cool cupcakes. Prepare buttercream icing. Tint orange. Use spatula to ice top of cupcakes smooth.
Decorate facial features. For eyes, use piping gel to attach candy eyeballs. For eyebrows, use scissors to cut four pieces of black shoestring licorice, each 3/4 in. Use piping gel and attach above eyes.
For hair, use scissors to cut nine pieces of black shoestring licorice, each 3/4 in. Insert into cupcake edge. For mouth, use fondant roller with purple guide rings to roll out black fondant 1/8 in. thick. Use medium oval Cut-Out fondant cutter to cut oval. Use piping gel to attach.
Assemble cupcake. Use piping gel to attach cupcake to candy plaque. For arms, tint white fondant orange. Divide fondant in half and roll into two logs. Use scissors to shape fingers. Use piping gel to attach arms to cupcake. Position mini candy-coated chocolate at mouth.
