Each treat serves 1.
Make cookies one day in advance. Prepare and roll out dough following recipe directions. Use Hello Kitty face cutter from set to cut shape. Bake and cool cookies.
Outline and flow in cookies one day in advance. Prepare Color Flow icing following recipe directions. Tint portions Christmas red, black and yellow. Reserve a portion white.
Use tip 2 in parchment bag and full-strength black icing to
outline head and nose. Use tip 3 and full-strength black icing to outline bow. Let dry 1 hour.
Use thinned icing in cut parchment bags to flow in outlined areas. Let dry 24 hours. Reserve remaining icing.
Complete cookies. Use tip 3 and full-strength black icing to pipe dot eyes and outline whiskers. Pat smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch. Let dry 1 hour.
Pipe dots for flower centers, faces, figure piping and border effects. When making large dots, lift the tip as you squeeze to allow icing to fill out completely.
Characters or designs are often outlined first, then piped in with stars or zigzags. Outlines can also be used for facial features.
