Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most difficult part of erecting the gingerbread house is being sure the sides are well set up prior to putting on the roof or any decorations. Once that is done, it is easy sailing. My son put one together for his two children and it turned out beautifully, I wish I had taken pictures. There are so many ways to decorate it that no two should ever be the same. He cut the short red licorice pieces in half length wise to use as roof shingles, making it look like a terracotta tile roof. He is a construction worker and a very creative person. The gingerbread house delighted the children and lasted almost the entire Christmas season before they picked all the goodies off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It was a bit of a struggle in the beginning, but once you start to see it taking shape,it begins to influence your inner self and decorating it becomes a fun and interesting quest. I intend to make an entire villiage and then glaze it to use year after year as each year I will grow with the villiage. How fun and what a wonderful time for "family time" together to use each other's ideas and bring out the adventurer in all of us. I loved it and will continue to love it year after year because it can only get bigger and better as we build it together. After all, isn't this holiday season all about Love, and what is better said about love than a good old fashioned time had by all?!!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow what fun for all ages!!! Wilton has kits available to make it so much easier!!!!. Use candies provided or buy others. wlmart has rock/ stone looking candies that are so realistic looking. I get together my my daughters every year and it is a tradition with us to put the house together. Love our time together. We didn't realize until our family expanded how many people have never done one, how many parents never took the time to have quality time. I wouldn't miss it for the world. If you are working with small children take breaks oftern as attention span runs out. tell them it has to dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have just purchased the gingerbread pan that Wilton has to offer. I thought it was a great idea when I saw it.... and it was ! I had my young grandchildren (7, 5 and 2 years) over to help with the making and we had a baking session that was wonderful. The pan is an excellent idea. It saves time and many steps in decorating ! Just follow the simple and clear directions in making the recipe, you should have no problem. Let the cookies cool well before trying to pop them out of the pan and they come out with ease. Instructions in all are clear and simple. Love it ! Happy baking !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love all of the Wilton gingerbread kits, they are all inclusive and if you want to add on you can purchase additional candy, although the kit has plenty. I simply made the royal icing glue, put together the frame and let it set then I went ahead and started decorating. It is helpful if you have a couple other tools like a variety of round tips (1,2,5,12), an angled spatula and some white sparkling sugar to replicate ice and snow crystals. I used the mini gingerbread tree kits to embellish my house which I placed on a 9x13" decorative board that I covered in royal icing and coconut with a liberal sprinkle of white sparkling sugar. My family thinks its beautiful and the squirrels will love it as their New Year feast!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is my 1st recipe, that I tried out this Christmas Vacation. Looking at the picture I really got interested and I wanted to make the house ASAP. I am a very crafty person, but I am not so experienced in Baking. Wilton recipe and guidelines made it a lot more simpler for me to follow. I ordered my things online and so simple just read the instructions and there it is MY OWN HANDMADE GINGER BREAD HOUSE. It is so beautiful that I feel like keeping it as it is on my dining table! Thank you Wilton for making it so easy for me! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I enjoyed using this recipe as a guidance to the Wilton Gingerbread house kit. My niece and I had so much fun decoating this house. I let her take the lead and let her design the house the way she envisioned it then I just helped with the assembly and piping. I gave this a medium because I had difficulty with the piping, but I figured out the mixture was too thick and would not come through the tip of the bag. Overall I really enjoyed working on this house with my niece and I believe many families will enjoy as well.
