Step 1

In advance: Make candy bear topper. Reserve two light cocoa candy wafers for ears. Make four shells for head and body using melted cocoa candy and large halves of dessert dome, following mold instructions. Run shell edges over warm pan to smooth; attach halves together with melted candy to make two balls. Gently run bottom of top ball (head) and bottom ball (body) over warm pan to flatten slightly. Balls will sit flat at neck and on base. Attach balls with melted candy.

Step 2

Also: Make base. Place second smallest circle cutter on cookie sheet. Fill 1/4 in. deep with melted cocoa candy. Chill until firm. And: Assemble topper. For arms and legs, cut two marshmallows in half; dip in melted cocoa candy. Place on parchment; chill until firm. Attach bear to base and arms and legs to bear with melted candy; chill. Run reserved candy wafers over warm pan to create flat edge; attach for ears with melted candy. Tint portions of melted white candy black and pink with candy color. Using melted candy in a cut parchment bag, pipe eyes, nose and ?1?; pipe smile. Using buttercream, pipe tip 1A pull-out party hat with tip 14, pull-out star fringe and pompom.

Step 3

Also: Make 12 presents. Tint portions of candy blue, pink and green. Use painting method to fill ribbon areas; chill until firm. Fill remainder of cavity with contrasting color. Tap to settle; chill until firm.

Step 4

Bake and cool 2-layer cake and 12 cupcakes. Ice smooth. Prepare cake for separator plate construction. Position plate in center, feet down.

Step 5

Print tip 8 name. Pipe dots on cake sides in assorted colors using tip 8 (small), tip 10 (medium) and tip 12 (large). Pipe tip 21 shell top and bottom borders. Position candy presents on cupcakes, supporting with icing dots if necessary. Position cupcake stand on plate. Position cupcakes on stand. Position bear on stand, securing with melted candy. Attach ribbon around base with tape.
