I am new to decorating, and up until now I have been choosing my own designs. Previously, the colors are how they turn out. I start off in a direction and see where it ends up.

I have been asked to do a Dallas Cowboys birthday cake. How do I make the correct colors? The Cowboy blue isn't royal blue, and is there silver, or is gray what I need to plan on. I searched the forum for advice, and saw some awesome ideas. One had silver, but if it isn't buttercream I'm out of luck.

Thank you for any info.

Being from Dallas, you would think I could tell you exactly what blue is the Cowboy blue but I'd probably have to get some sort of paraphanelia to check the color, it's probably slightly darker than navy. They do use silver, I think Wilton has as edible silver spray you can spray on buttercream.

If you'll look in the Weddings forum and do a search for "Dallas Cowboys" you'll see a cake I did. I found a Dallas Cowboys logo and mixed blues til I got a close match. Good luck!! Love those Boys!!

My daughter just did cupcakes with Dallas Cowboy jerseys and helmets. She used the royal blue color and added a little bit of black to get the cowboy blue and mixed silver luster dust with vanilla flavoring for the silver. They turned out really cute.
