Just wondering if anyone has purchased this and if so what is your opinion. I have 50% coupons and was looking at this item.

Thanks
Linda

Nope!

I use my "Redneck practice boards." They also double as gumpaste petal savers. Cakedujour & Scubabaker has seen it first hand.

I made one myself, just like Bunny's. You would have to print out pictures of the techniques you are practicing but the homemade version gives you lots of room. I use mine to save gumpaste pieces that I'm working on (flat ones) and it is great.

Basically, you take a piece of foam core board in the size you want. Then get some vinyl at the fabric store and cut two pieces that are about the same width but a few inches longer than the foam core. Line up one sheet of vinyl so it is centered with even overhang on the edges. Wrap the edges of vinyl over the edges and securely staple them down at each end. Go crazy with the staples. Then lay the second sheet of vinyl down and position the foam core board even with the vinyl on three sides. Wrap the excess over the end and securely staple that sheet down. Go crazy with the staples here too.

Flip it over. You now have a place to put gumpaste petals, etc. To use this as a practice board, simply place your printed sheets between the two sheets on vinyl and practice to your heart's content. When you have mastered the techniques you are learning, you still have an awesome petal saver. Trust me, it is really nice to have a big one when you are making flowers and other decorations! The ones sold by Wilton are nice, but small.

I have it and love it! I used my 50% coupon too. So worth it, I use it all the time to practice.

Bunnywoman and cakedujour, love your homemade ones!

I have one and I'm not impressed. I was hoping for the patterns to increase in size not shrink. Bummer Just another Wilton product to sit on the shelf collecting dust. Sigh.....
