Okay I just did a couple of templates for you all.

Hope you can use them. You should be able to delete and add layers as you need them.

I know cake central also has a lot of templates. They have a section just for those. These are great though. I couldn't open one of them up. I'll try again. Thanks!

You all are very welcome. Does anyone else know where maybe these kinds of templates are already prepared.

I want to do a heart one. My 25th Wedding Anniversay is next year in June, and I want to get started early on my own design. But if one already exist, no sense in double work.

Thanks

Okay, I've only been decorating cakes for a few months. Please, what are these templates used for? I opened them and see that you can manipulate them but, why would I want/need to do that? Please explain to this newbie. I'd like to be as excited as everyone else!

Tater, my plan is to use them to sketch my cake ideas/plans on them. That way I can give myself as well as a customer an idea of what it will look like.

Thanks for posting this -
I put a thread like this on here a long time ago asking for templates-
...I haven't looked back to see what I posted as the request - so I guess
I used the wrong terminology!!

it's fun to play !!

KTB,

Thank you for the explanation! That is really a neat idea. Think I'll go give it a try!

See, now I'm just as excited as everyone else!

The cake templates on Cake Central are all pdf files so you can open them with Acrobate Reader. The two above were done in Microsoft Word and unless you have Microsoft Word you may not be able to open them. Cake Central probably has at least 75 or more templats for round, square, oval, heart and just about any combination of cakes you could think of put together for a tiered cake. All you have to do is print them out, grab some colored pencils or markers, and put your creative juices to work. It's an absolutely wonderful venue.

ksrank - I could have save them as an adobe file if that is needed no problem.

Also, I cannot find any templates on cake central such as these. If you know how to get to them exactly please post the link as to no matter what I typed in, I did not get anything like what I did.

please post the link......so we can all have advantage of something better.......

Thanks

Hi everyone,

I'm a little late here but I've just come across a great tool on a search for this. It's on http://www.bakingit.com. They have lots of different calculators including one called "cake sketcher". You put in all your requirements and it will generate a picture of your cake. You can print this out and then add your design ideas. It's great as you can print out a few and play around with all your ideas.
