Hi, I want to make a cake in the Wilton long loaf pan.
Can anyone advise me as to amount of cake batter to use, temp to bake & length of baking time for this pan using a box cake mix. I do not have the insert for this pan, but I'm pretty sure the only instructions were for breads or angelfood cake. I would love to try this for a birthday cake. Thanks a bunch for any help offered on this pan! Tracy

I did this a long time ago. It turned out very well too. I made just one cake mix on my first try. It wasn't really very high after baking. At least not high enough for me any way.

So the next time I made the cake extender along with one cake box and it was much better for height.
I baked it at 350 for around 38-40 minutes. Test it after 35 minutes for doneness. Each oven is different so it is better check.

Bunnywoman, Thank you for helping ~ I appreciate it!
In the Vol.3 encyclopedia - Uses of Tubes, there is a beautiful birthday cake made using this pan. No baking instructions are given. I am a semi-beginner concentrating on roses & borders at this time. I think this will give me a unique way to show off some of my practiced skills. Thanks again, Tracy
