Does anyone have a good, EASY to make recipe for chocolate and strawberry mousse? I'm still trying to decide on a filling for this Devil's Food Cake. Thanks!

My quick and easy mousse recipe: A box of instant pudding (small size). Add 2 cups heavy cream. Beat with mixer until combined. Let it rest for 5 min. Beat again for approx. 4 min. until you have the proper mousse consistency. You can use any flavor of instant pudding. I add crushed oreos to my White Chocolate version. A big favorite with my customer.

That sounds awesome and easy to make. Does the cake need o be refrigerated with this filling?

I recently did a filling where I took some chocolate ganache and mixed in some butter cream to get the consistency of a mousse and it came out so good..

Staci, yes, Grammy's recipe would require refrigeration.

For super easy and quick mousse you could use the box mousse mix. You would have to keep the cake refrigerated.

What if you used dream whip instead of the whipping cream, would that need to be refrigerated?

Are you using milk with the Dream Whip? If so, then yes, it'd need to be refrigerated.

I've been away for the weekend and am only checking in now. Yes, my mousse does have to be refrigerated.
