I get orders from time to time for sculpted cakes. Pound cakes are much better for sculpting so I bought a bunch of pound cake mixes when they were on sale really cheap. I have an order coming up next week for a sculpted cake but the woman wants a dark chocolate cake. Is it possible to add chocolate to the cake mix to get a dark chocolate flavor? What kind would I add and how much?

Yes, it will affect the baking time, I would add cocoa because it's cheaper, and cocoa is more concentrated. of course you'll need more liquid to make up for dryness of the cocoa.

Yellow cake mix tastes different. It has a distinct flavor to it. Not sure how that would taste if you added chocolate to it???????

I've done it with a white cake mix before, added cocoa powder to it, then added a bit more veggie oil as well. Haven't done it with a yellow cake mix though.
