I have a friend that is a Florida State Seminole Fan (feel sorry for him) but any way, he would like a football cake decorated in their team colors. Their school colors are Garnet (Maroon) and Gold.

Any suggestions???

Thanks in advanced!!

Mix Burgundy and Red Red to get Maroon.

Gold icing is a different story. Start with a touch of lemon yellow. Make it vibrant but not too much. Then add red or orange, just a tiny bit at a time so that it is slightly orange. Then add just a touch of purple. The purple is what you will use to make it a deeper gold. Add it in small increments until you have the shade you want. If you make it too dark, just start a new container with a small amount of the gold and add white to lighten it us. Using purple in yellows and greens is how you dull a color, so it is not too bright. White brightens and purple dulls in most colors. I wish I had exact measurements for you, but I do it by eye. Good luck!
