Topic: Cherry Basket Cake

Here's the cake I made for the Memorial Day get together my sister invited us to.

All butter cream - cake is a WASC with Marachino cherries (and the liquid from the jar as part of the liquid for the cake). Basket weave with star tip, the cherries on top are butter cream made with a HUGE plain tip (Ateco 808 if I remember correctly) with chocolate stems.

Why Lisa, you and Sparky are a dream team! That cake looks great!

Thanks! Oh yeah... I like working with Sparky! Today he's gonna make the meat for meatballs. I HATE mixing raw meat with my hands! I might have enough to even take to the party tomorrow!

Very pretty cake & clever idea. I never thought of using my Angel to mix the meat for meatballs/meatloaf. Thanks for that tip. I don't like touching raw meat either. :(

WOW. Your cake looks great. You certainly have that basketweave method down. It's perfect!!

DietCokeNoIce - that was my first attempt at basket weave - believe it or not.

Well the cake turned out really nice but my burning question is how did Sparky handle the meatballs?
