Hi,

I am making a bridal shower cake that is for tomorrow. It is done, but I had issues with my fondant (first time making a cake using it). It was really hard and when I put it on the cake, it has a cracked look, and the colored fondant has dulled. Is there something I can put on the cake to spruce it up?

Thanks!

What type of fondant did you use, MMF or store bought? I have never used MMF but with the Wilton's , I find that I need to use a lot more shortening before I start to roll it out. Satin Ice, on the other hand, requires more cornstarch/sugar. Satin Ice rarely cracks, and the end product is a nice tone.

Sometimes if my fondant looks dry and dull, I rub a bit of Crisco on it to get it to shine. You'll have a shiny cake, if that's ok with you.

Or put flowers/decorations all over!! HEhehehe!
