Topic: Wedding cake with old school decorating!

This is what I call old school decorating. Buttercream iced cake with royal icing roses. I used the Always and Forever separator plate in the middle of the tiers. I did have a few pieces of fondant with the cherubs and scrolls.

Gosh I hope so cakedujour!!! I'm a little tired of plain fondant, or buttercream iced as smooth as fondant with only a few gum paste or silk roses. Ho, Hum. I'm an old school girl and I love the piping!!!

I love the old school style of decorating although piping seems harder than I remember it. We did it so much in the old days that it got to be old hand. Guess I need to practice more! Love your cake!

Oh wow! So classic Ditto! Love this and it's so nice to see such beautiful details embellishing cakes where everything nowadays is so streamlined and clean (meaning little decos). Great job!
