I have been hired to make a wedding cake the end of this month. The colors that the girl wants on the cake are black and hot pink. I have no idea what color to use to get a hot pink icing. Anyone have any ideas? The bride-to-be made it very clear that it must be "hot" pink.

Wilton sells "rose", it's hot pink. I don't know why it's called "rose" and not hot pink, lol.

Zinger60, I did post a picture of the cake and cupcakes, the reason I didn't suggest that you look at them is because the picture I took didn't do the color "justice" I had a glare from my window. Anyway you be the judge, I posted it in Life Celebrations under Hannah Montana Character Pan Cake.

allcakesupplies.com carries the color fushia, but I've never personally tried it.

I use Americolor electric pink or deep pink. You don't have to use that much because it's strong. I would post a pic, but I don't know how Someday I will have one of my kids show me! Good luck!

I use the Americolor electric pink to make hot pink. I'm posting a pic to show the color it makes. I did not use a lot of the pink and achieved hot pink quickly. You can use more to make a deeper hot pink.

Here are a couple of cakes I've done in a hot pink color. I always use the rose color to get hot pink.
