My mom and I made cookie pops today but something went wrong. The cookies crumbled and the sticks came off. We did everything that the instructions told us to do. We used Pillsbury sugar cookie dough because it was all we had and wanted to use it before it went bad. Also the instructions never mentioned anything about high altitude, I live in the Mile High City (Denver). So I was wondering if I should use the Wilton recipe and what about the instructions for the high altitude part?

Sounds like they got too dry , remember you need a binding agent to hold it all in place.. they only other thing i can think of that you may have done is maybe you didnt make it thick enough for the stick? i had to use cookie sticks for cake pops once and i was not pleased with the results. they are about 4-5 times thicker then the lollipop sticks.
