My tips look like they went thru a fire. I'm sure they fine to use, but they are ugly and I don't want the others to come to the same fate. Did soaking them do this? I've been running them thru the dishwasher, they have come out fine.

What did you soak them in?

Acidic conditions will discolor the tips. The prescence of bleach, vinegar and some antibacterial dishsoaps can discolor tips if they are left to soak. It does not affect their performance - they are still perfectly fine to use - they just are not as pretty and shiny anymore.

It was dawn w/olay. I'm glad there were only 2 it happened to. I'll stick with the dishwasher thing.
