Hi - I'm not sure how to time my cake for lesson 2.

Our instructor recommended filling one pan 3/4 so we could torte it. I'll be using a box cake, but those directions will show for 2 round pans, plus I won't be using all the batter.

My pan is 8 inches, 2 inches deep

Thanks!

You can tort a 2" deep cake, it's just easier to learn if using a deeper cake.

With the extra batter, make cupcakes. You can then freeze them and save them for next week's class.
