Topic Title: No classes near me!

I live at least 2 hours from where any Wilton Cake Decorating classes are held. I was able to get my hands on the course books (1-3), and I am going to try to teach myself from them. Any tips/suggestions from those of you who attended classes that might help me?

Patience and practice!! Seriously, those are the only tips I can give you..oh and youtube videos can be a big help as well.

I agree!! There are many youtube videos that are great to watch. Patience and practice... BooBear said it all

Check out seriouscakes and tonedna1 on youtube, they have a bunch of really good videos.

Hi !!!
That was the same problem for me. I'm in the Caribbean, i can't find any wilton cake decorating classes, so i bought the books, watch video on you tube to learn how to make the decoration. I just finished my first cake. It's not really perfect but i'm proud of the cake.
Don't be afraid to start, you are at the right place and we are here to help each other.
