Topic: Icing trouble...

Hi, im doing an upright panda cake...i have let the cake cool, brushed off any crumbs and am ready to pipe using the star tip. Is there a trick to making the icing stick to the cake? About every 3rd or so star it doesnt adhear and falls off...is it maybe the spray that was needed to prevent sticking in the pan? Anyway, if anyone has any helpful suggestions, I would sure appreciate it! Thanks!

thin down your icing a bit, it sounds like it is too thick.

peg's right - I tihink you need to thin down the icing

Also - did you crumb coat the panda ? Some people do this - even for a shaped cake

Is this like dirty icing the cake...crumb coating?
