Topic: Help- Giant cupcake pan disaster

Help!! 5yr old's B-day is saturday and my giant cupcake got stuck in the pan...

I greased and floured the pan, filled, baked it, and let it cool...but only the middles of the cakes came out of the pan!!! It IS the first time i have used it, and I used a box cake mix in it. Is there a Trick use'n a box mix with it?
a certain oil/butter I need to grease it with??

<deep breath> going to run to the store for more cake mix eggs and oil ...

From your description, your problem was letting it cool in the pan. It should remain in the pan about 10 minutes to "settle" and then be turned out onto a cooling rack to finish cooling.

Baker's Joy or the other spray oils with flour in them work well. So does homemade pan goop:

1 cup oil
1 cup flour
1 cup shortening.

Mix well. Apply with a pastry brush. Store at room temperature.

You can make this in any quantity -- use 1/4 cup of each ingredient, or a 1/2, etc.
