I really need some help trying to figure out what the person who made this used for the black decoration on the side. Could be material, or something not edible, but I'm really not sure.
Can someone please take a look at it and give me some advice, on what it is, or what we could use to acheive this look?

ktbec...I would post this in weddings to get more of a response,but personal opinion, it looks like piped RI that they did transfers of. Could possibly be fondant as well. it's kind of hard to tell from the picture.

It looks to me like plain old Buttercream icing roses colored a dark black.With Americolor gels you can get the icing that Black!
