Rated 5 out of 5 by from This idea is super easy to execute. I used peppermint sticks instead of dowel rod though. Much less expensive than using dowel rod and it makes the entire candle edible. I used a pizza cutter to make the 1/4" strips and I also used edible glitter on the star so that it was shiny.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I made these candles without the dowling so they were totally edible, and popped one on each cupcake too. The kids loved them! Such a hit, that I will make them in the future too. Pretty easy. Had most difficulty with the piece of fondant wrapped around the candle. lol.
