Make gum paste flowers 2 days in advance. Tint gum paste 1 oz. dark violet and 1 oz. violet. Prepare gum glue adhesive following recipe directions. Make eight pansies according to instructions in Course 2 Lesson Plan. Use brush to brush lilac purple and orchid pink Pearl Dust on pansies. Use gum glue adhesive to attach three yellow Sugar Pearls to center of each flower. Let dry in large flower forming cups.
Make cake. Prepare batter following recipe directions. Bake and cool cake. Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Tint portion black. Reserve majority white. Torte, stack and fill for a 3-layered cake, 5 in. high. Use spatula, icing smoother and white icing to ice cake smooth.
Decorate cake. Use pansy cutter from kit and smallest leaf Cut-Out to make floral pattern on cake top and sides. Use tip 2, cut disposable decorating bag and black icing to pipe outline pattern and stems. Don?t pipe flower where gum paste flowers will be. Use dots of black icing to attach gum paste flowers to cake.
