In Advance: Using royal icing to make the following flowers: Make 10 tip 104 yellow/brown roses with tip 12 bases. Make 70 tip 16 white drop flowers with tip 3 dot centers. Make extras to allow for breakage and let dry.
Make 2 1/2 cups buttercream icing:
? Tint 1/4 cup green
? Reserve 2 1/4 cups white
Make 4 cups royal icing:
?Tint 3 cups Lemon Yellow/small amount of Brown combination
?Reserve 1 cup white
Decorate in Order:
Ice cake smooth in white buttercream icing.
Arrange royal icing roses on cake top.
Add tip 352 leaves using green buttercream icing.
Arrange royal icing drop flowers on cake top and sides.
Drop flowers are a great way to add flowers quickly. Pipe drop flowers in buttercream directly on your cake, or pipe in royal in advance and place your flowers anywhere. Flowers will be sharper in definition when piped in royal.
