Step 1

1 DAY IN ADVANCE

Make cookie umbrella. Prepare and roll out cookie dough following recipe directions. Use knife and pattern to cut out umbrella. Bake and cool cookie.

Melt white Candy Melts candy according to package directions. Use melted candy in cut disposable bag to attach an 11 3/4 in. lollipop stick to back of cookie. Let set, 3 to 5 minutes.

Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Tint portions light kelly green, rose, black and violet/rose combination (for light violet); reserve remaining white. Use tip 3 and green icing to outline umbrella and ribs. Use tip 16 and green icing to fill in with stars. Use tip 3 and white icing to pipe random dots.

Step 2

Bake and cool elephant pan cake.

Cake is one layer, 2 in. high. Position on foil-wrapped board, cut to fit.

Use spatula and white icing to ice cake sides and background areas smooth. Ice inside ears and mouth smooth with rose. Pat smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch.

Step 3

Decorate cake. Use tip 12 and white icing to pipe in whites of eyes; pat smooth. Use tip 12 and black icing to pipe in pupils; pat smooth. Use tip 3 and violet icing to outline body, inside ears, toenails and details. Use tip 3 to pipe in violet toenails and trunk opening; pat smooth.

Use tip 16 and violet icing to cover remainder of elephant with stars. Use tip 10 and violet icing to pipe outline curled tail. Use tip 18 and violet icing to pipe pull-out star tuft on tail and rosettes for hair.

Use tip 3 and black icing to pipe outline eyelashes. Use tip 5 and white icing to pipe bead bottom border. Insert umbrella, trimming stick if necessary. Support with large marshmallows as needed.
