Make layered cake. Prepare batter following recipe directions. Bake and cool two 6 in. cake layers. Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Level, fill and stack layers on cake circle for a 2-layer cake, 4 in. high. Place on turntable.
Ice cake. Use spatula and white icing to ice cake smooth. Use spatula and turntable to make diagonal marks on the sides of the cake.
Decorate cake. Use red icing pouch with star tip to pipe a zigzag starting around the top edge of the cake. Pipe another row of zigzags overlapping the first, and continue adding rows until top is covered. Use red icing pouch with star tip to pipe rosette in center of cake top.
