These tiny spring blossoms can be made in pink, white or blue. They are about half the size of a dime. As with all royal icing flowers, be sure to make more than you need—you don't want to be caught short if flowers break when you are assembling the cake!
- Practice with tip: 101s, 1
- Icing consistency: Medium Royal Icing
- Bag Position: For Petals, 45° at 3:00 (9:00); For Center, 90°
- Hold tip: For Petals, Wide End Of Tip Touching Center Of Nail, Narrow End Pointing Out and Raised 1/8 Inch Above Nail Surface; For Center, Slightly Above Flower
- Flower Nail: #9
1. Squeeze bag with light pressure and move tip out 1/16 inch to form first petal. Turn nail, letting spin of nail form petal. Relax pressure as you move tip back to starting point. Stop, lift tip away.
2. Repeat to make four more petals.
3. Add tip 1 dot center.
