WILTON'S DARLING DECORATOR CONTEST
OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY

CONTEST IS OPEN ONLY TO CHILDREN BETWEEN THE AGES OF SIX (6) AND ELEVEN (11) WHO ARE LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE 50 UNITED STATES AND WASHINGTON, DC

1. HOW TO ENTER: Beginning 12:01 AM Eastern Time (ET) 7/1/03 through 11:59 PM ET 9/1/03, visit www.darlingdecorator.wilton.com to download an Official Entry Form. On an Official Entry Form or on a plain piece of 3"x 5" paper, hand print name, address, zipcode, date of birth and (optional) phone number of child who is entering. Mail completed entry form together with a photograph of your "Best-Decorated Fantasy Birthday Cake" in a hand-addressed envelope with first class postage affixed, to: Wilton's Darling Decorator Contest, P.O. Box 4113, Blair, NE 68009-4113. Photograph must be of a cake which has been decorated by the child who is entering. Parent or legal guardian of child must certify that cake shown in photo is in compliance with above requirement. IMPORTANT: If entry is via 3" x 5" paper, parent/legal guardian of child who is entering must sign to signify this certification. Although parent/legal guardian may supervise process of cake decoration, idea and work must be that of child who is entering. All entries must be received by 9/8/03. Limit one entry per envelope.
   
   
2. JUDGING: Entries will be preliminarily reviewed by D. L. Blair, Inc., an independent judging organization. Final judging to determine winners will be accomplished by a panel of judges whose decisions are final. Judging will be based on the following criteria: originality of cake design - 50%; creative use of decorative components - 30%; overall decorating ability of the child - 20%. In the event of a tie, tied entries will be re-judged in accordance with criteria listed above to determine final winners. The independent judging organization reserves the right to disqualify any entry that, in the sole opinion of the judges, refers, depicts or in any way reflects negatively upon the sponsor, the promotion or any other person or entity.
   
   
3. PRIZES & APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES: Prizes will be awarded in two age categories - ages 6 - 8 and ages 9 - 11 as follows: (1) Grand Prize of $2,000 in U.S. Savings Bonds to a winner in each age category (Total 2 Grand Prizes); (5) Honorable Mention Prizes of $100 per winner in Wilton products in each age category (Total: 10 Honorable Mention Prizes). Bond values are stated at time of maturity; purchase price is one-half of maturity value. Prizes consist of only the items specifically listed as the prize.
   
   
4. GENERAL RULES: This contest is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and Washington, DC who are between the ages of six (6) and eleven (11) at time of entry. Employees of Edelman, Wilton Industries, Inc., D.L. Blair, their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion and internet agencies and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible. All federal, state and local laws apply. Void where prohibited by law. Potential Grand Prize winners and their parents or legal guardians will be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability and, if legally permissible, a Publicity Release within 10 days of attempted notification. Affidavit must certify that the cake decorating shown in submission is entrant's original work, that entrant holds all rights to the picture, that picture has not been previously published and that entrant has followed the rules of the contest. Noncompliance within the above time period or return of any prize notification/prize as undeliverable may result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected. Winners will be notified by phone/mail. Limit one prize per person/household. No transfer or substitution of prize permitted. All taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize of equal or greater value. Sponsor is not responsible for incomplete, lost, late mail or postage due or for any technical problems, malfunctions of any telephone lines, computer systems, servers, providers, hardware/software, lost or unavailable network connections or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission or any combination thereof. Sponsor not responsible for any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from participation in or accessing or downloading information in connection with this promotion. The Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process. By accepting prize, winners agree to hold Sponsor, its respective directors, officers, employees and assigns, harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of use of prize. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to the Sponsor and its agencies to use winner's name and/or likeness and submitted pictures for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. All material submitted becomes the sole property of Sponsor and may be used by Sponsor in any manner it deems fit without compensation to the participant without limitation. By participating in this promotion, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the judges. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the contest or in the announcement of the prize.
